Jesse Whaley

Bio: Jesse Whaley is a seasoned technology and cybersecurity executive with over 20 years of experience in leading and managing cyber risk and security matters across various sectors and domains. He is currently the Chief Information Security Officer at Amtrak, the nation’s largest passenger rail service provider and one of the most complex and critical transportation systems in the world. Jesse and his teams were recognized as a 2023 Global Leadership Institute award winner and as the inaugural Orbie Capital CISO of the Year award.

In his role, Jesse oversees the protection of Amtrak’s digital assets and infrastructure, as well as the security and safety of its customers and employees. He is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives and digital transformation initiatives. He also manages a diverse team of security technical and business professionals who handle everything from traditional enterprise technology risks to unique challenges with operational technology that securely moves trains and safely delivers passengers to their destinations. Jesse leverages his extensive background and expertise in technology, security, intelligence, and criminal investigations to deliver award-winning cybersecurity performance and groundbreaking improvements for Amtrak and its stakeholders.
